L is for... Luxury

Nine months stripped back
To T-shirts and jeans
(Just one pair.)
-
Time to fill the gaps in between.

But K-mart (think Primark)
Can’t quite solve my style
(Luxury?)
-
Thread this new era with me-ish apparel.

I fantasise freely
Of Sex and the City
(The fashion!)
-
Of delicate fabrics,  bright colours - pretty.

Scented store playground,
Chanel No. 5.
(Marilyn!)
-
A taste of couture for an excellent life.

That blue velvet coat,
Its irrational beauty
(Lynchian.)
-
Defined by its absence – a missing luxury.

What I’m really seeking’s
A taste of me
(Conclusion.)
-
Stitched through with things I have seen.

Presentation’s everything;
But inform my choices
(Ethical.)
-
A quiet call against unrepentant voices.

Two minutes on the spindle,
Cheap fix for a date.
(Gap-filler.)
Nothing but moments, a lifetime too late.

  1. I see a lot of you in this, pure Kerry-ness.
I love the line "stitched through with things I have seen."
